What can we help with?

From 1st November 2025 , we will be  accepting applications for small grants of up to £200,  for items not currently  available through the NHS,  that would  help you live more independently with Arthritis.

We can help with items for:

  • Using the bathroom safely
  • Cooking and eating more easily
  • Getting dressed
  • Getting out of bed or out of a chair
  • Other items to help you live independently with Arthritis

We will also consider other mobility and life improvement items – just ask!

Who can Apply?

To be eligible for a grant from Arthros, you must meet the following 3 criteria:

  • You live within our service area
  • You have been diagnosed, and are living with, Inflammatory Arthritis
  • You are aged 30 years or over.

How we work

We purchase items directly from our preferred suppliers, including Ableworld Reading, ensuring you receive a quality  product.

When you apply, please let us know  what you need.  If you have any queries we will do our best to answer them .

What happens next?

We will aim to give you a decision within one month of your application. Please note that Arthros is staffed entirely by volunteers, so response time may occasionally be longer.

Looking forward

This small grant programme will be the first stage of our relaunched services. We will be running a trial through 2025 and early 2026, with medium and large grants planned for Spring 2026.
